Piranha Miniguard Review

Posted on December 5, 2021December 5, 2021 by Gholmes2

A couple of weeks ago I added some of the Piranha Miniguard auto knives to the store. Since then, I’ve been carrying one of the Miniguards on a daily basis. So far, I’m liking it a lot!

Piranha Miniguard

At just 3.75″ closed with a pocket clip, it’s an easy to pack EDC knife. Add to that the lightweight aluminum handle and slim profile S30V blade. You got a super fast to deploy EDC knife that’s compact and comfortable to carry.

The slim blade results in an incredible slicer.

That slim blade is absolutely perfect for making thin, delicate cuts. So that you don’t get the false impression the blade is too thin for serious work, rest assured it’s not. The S30V has held a great edge through the past two weeks of ‘lunch’, letters and cardboard boxes. It seems like I cut as much cardboard as anything and that wears on a fine edge. I’m a big fan of the S30V steels and this one doesn’t disappoint. Yesterday I spent about 2 minutes with a leather strop and brought that blade up to shaving sharp.

Fine cuts in paper or cutting a piece of beef jerky, no problem!

I’ve carried an auto off and on over the years. They’re fantastic when you’re working on a project that only allows one free hand. The Piranha Miniguard is easy to carry, access and the Piranha’s are some of the fastest auto’s I’ve used. Lockback is tight and secure. So many of the quality auto’s can be heavy or bulky. The Miniguard breaks the rule and delivers a great every day auto made right here in the good ol’ USA.
