I just posted a sale notice on the Trestle Pine Knives website and thought I’d pass it along. Starting today I’m offering a 15% discount on orders over $50 from the Throwing Knives Axes and Hatchets category. The sale runs through Sunday and there’s some dynamite deals to be had! All you have to do is enter the discount Code : THROWIT during the checkout. AND your order will ship free in the US.
Regarding the review in progress…. I started playing around with one of the Karesuando #3516’s know as The Fox. About a month ago I had a sale on these but never got around to using one myself. I ordered in more after the sale so they’re in stock again.
This time of the year I don’t get to go out camping. I really like to get outside to try my knives out as that’s where this type of knife will most likely be used. It’s a nice medium sized knife. The blade is 4″ which is a little longer then I normally use outside, but it’s well below John Rambo dimensions.
So far I’m really liking it and maybe next week I can sit down and share some personal observations. I like the Karesuando line and so far my impressions have been positive. They truly seem to be sportsmans knives designed by sportsmen.
That being said, the Helle knives have also caught my attention. They have a couple of patterns that Les Stroud from the “Survivorman” series was involved in designing. Like Karesuando, the Helle’s were designed to be used. Both carry Scandinavian design characteristics but coming from Sweden and Norway I guess that’s to be expected, no?
