I was sad to read the post on the GEC website regarding Chris being on an “Indefinite leave of absence”. Having read and reread the post, I’m left believing the absence may be permanent. REALLY sorry to hear that.
In the time GEC has been in existence Chris became the face and voice of Great Eastern. From taking orders, maintaining order, handling returns, invoicing, answering phones, attending shows and so much more, it was pretty easy to assume Chris ‘is’ GEC. Literally everyone familiar with GEC knows who Chris is.
After Ken Daniels left GEC, I talked to Chris 99.9% of the time when I called in. It was a rare occasion she couldn’t deal with issues or answer my questions. And other then Chris and Ken, I don’t think anyone else from GEC attended any shows or went out to see the dealers.
I mean this in the kindest of ways, Chris’ departure from GEC is leaving some enormous shoes to fill. Chris, if you’re reading this, I’m not referring to your shoe size but the size of the imprint you’re leaving at GEC for someone to fill. Thanks for everything. Best wishes and good health!!!
In the more than 12 years that I have been a GEC customer Chris has been a friend to me, and has been for me what GEC is and stands for.
Whatever the circumstances may be I sincerely wish her the very best. She is and will be very much missed.
I think that covers it for a lot of GEC customers
