The Allegheny Yellow Rose knives arrived today and started shipping out to customers. As anticipated, they look great and that Yellow Rose handle material always looks nice on a larger handle.
The first of the week I received a handful of the Stag Allegheny’s. And it was a small ‘handfull’.
The stag is nice looking. Nothing stunning but nice looking. I’ve held back on listing any in the store as there are so few available. Previously I had indicated I’d use a lottery system to try and give everyone a fair shot at one. Folks that were interested in the lottery submitted a request during the early order period for the other Allegheny’s.
I’m waiting until I see how many early orders don’t get picked up. The individuals not picking up their early orders but indicating an interest in the stag lottery are out of luck. There are 6 early orders on hold and I’ll give them another day or two to take care of business and then we’ll move on.
Overall, the 97 Allegheny seems to be a pretty popular pattern. That being said, I’ve also heard more then a few complaints about the soft springs. A couple of customers have commented that the blades could even be considered lazy on closing. For a knife this size I tend to agree it would have been nice if they would have put slightly heavier springs in them.
