Last week I headed to the northwoods for a few days of field testing. One of the knives I took along was a White River Knife & Tool Firecrafter 5. This is a bit of a specialty knife designed with the outdoorsman/survivalist in mind.
It’s a great tool that is well thought out and an effective tool. While I didn’t get to use it with a Bow/Drill, the inset in the handle is perfect. My last effort to start a fire that way was met with disappointment. The problem was finding a handle to hold the top end of the drill. I couldn’t find that perfect rock with a depression the same size as my drill!! With the Firecrafter 5, problem solved.
