I came across a really cool tool to add to the kit last week in the form of the Flexx Strop Kit. Keeping a sharp knife is a bit of a passion with me and I’m always looking for a way to stay ahead of things. In the past I’ve made strops out of paint sticks or small pieces of wood with leather attached. There’s a strop on the workbench in the garage, two in my office, another onmy loading bench and at least one more in my knife kit. They all do the job but I do like this latest addition to the store alot.
It’s around 7.375″ long and 1.625″ wide. The nice thing is it’s not only compact but its flexible so it can be fitted into a tight spot if necessary.
The Flexx Strop comes ‘pre-loaded’ with green honing compound and is ready to go as is. In addition, it also includes a spare block of the green honing compound. So when the time comes to add more compound, you’re all set.
In spite of its compact size, I find it works well with either pocket knives.
or larger hunting knives.
Whether I’m hunting, fishing, camping or just on the deck clipping a cigar, I can’t stand a dull knife. The Flexx Strop Kit is easy to slip in a pocket and always have available. I wouldn’t sell it if I wouldn’t use it!!
